This game was the first in the Metal Gear Solid series. It was the third game that starred the continuing hero, Solid Snake, and introduced the antagonist Ocelot and a rookie soldier Meryl Silverburgh. It was released on the Playstation console in 1998. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is the enhanced remake of the game, released exclusively for Nintendo's Gamecube in March of 2004.

This game was the sequel to the successful game, Metal Gear Solid. The storyline starred Solid Snake, the newcomer Raiden and the returning antagonist, Ocelot. MGS2 was released on the Playstation 2 console in 2001. The expanded version, "Substance", was originally released only on the Xbox console in November 2002. It was later followed with the Playstation 2 and PC version in March 2003.

This game was a prologue to the Konami released games that first debuted in 1987. The entire storyline of Snake Eater features the background story to Naked Snake, also known as Big Boss to the earlier fans. This game featured Ocelot in his younger age. The game was released on the Playstation 2 console in November 2004 and the expanded version, "Subsistence", was released March 2006.
