Intricate

Why the title? My friend Bianca actually came up with it when I was trying to brain storm for a name! Ashitaka and San's relationship is one of the few anime relationships out there that isn't completely canon in romantic terms. The two actually don't have any kind of romantic situations.. But instead have many pulsating interactions, which was something that was so uniqually done by Miyazaki.. I feel like intricate is a perfect discription of their relationship, as you can view it in so many different ways.
